Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Stringer Pro. By creating an account you accept them. Please read the two sections on community content and on fishing safety — they matter most.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Stringer Pro.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
Stringer Pro subscription
Stringer Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the app's fishing-intelligence features — stocking reports and alerts, DNR fish surveys, depth contours, Bite Forecast, Best Water, river conditions, personal patterns and the trout program. The map, every public water, fishing regulations, your catch log, groups and the species guide are free and never require a subscription.
- Pricing: $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, after a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app before any purchase and may vary by region.
- Billing is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
- Manage or cancel any time in your device's App Store subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If pricing changes, existing subscribers are notified in accordance with App Store rules before any new price takes effect.
Community content and zero tolerance for abuse
Stringer Pro lets you post photos and comments to your private groups. You own what you post and you are responsible for it.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to post anything that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights; not to impersonate anyone; and not to post another person's image or information without their consent.
- Report it: every catch and every comment has a Report option. Reports go straight to us.
- Block anyone: you can block a member from their profile or any of their posts. A block hides both of you from each other immediately, everywhere in the app, without either of you leaving the group.
- We review every report and act within 24 hours. We remove content that violates these terms and we remove the accounts of users who post it.
Fishing regulations are your responsibility
Stringer Pro shows Illinois and Iowa fishing information — size and creel limits, stocking reports, state records, species guidance and bite forecasts — as a convenience. It is not legal advice and it is not an official source.
Statewide limits shown in the app can be overridden by site-specific rules at an individual lake or river, and regulations change. You are responsible for holding a valid fishing license for the state you are fishing in and for checking the current official regulations with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources or the Iowa Department of Natural Resources before you fish and before you keep a fish.
Conditions, forecasts and your safety
Weather, river gauge readings, bite forecasts and water conditions in the app come from third-party public data and from our own estimates. They can be wrong, delayed or unavailable. Never rely on them for decisions about your safety on or around the water.
Boat ramps, piers and access points are shown from public data and may be closed, damaged, or on land you are not permitted to cross. Confirm access before you go.
Local pro listings
Stringer Pro shows listings for local fishing businesses, some of which pay to be featured. Sponsored listings are marked. We are not responsible for the services, prices or conduct of any listed business, and a listing is not an endorsement.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access another user's data, break the app's security, or scrape its contents.
- Do not use Stringer Pro for any unlawful purpose, including to plan or conceal a violation of fishing or wildlife law.
The app is provided as-is
Stringer Pro is provided without warranty of any kind. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its data will be accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, if anything.
Ending these terms
You may stop using Stringer Pro and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including immediately in the case of abusive or objectionable content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
